As a Board member of The Dallas Foundation, I  just participated in  our “Grantee Appreciation” reception in which over 100 representatives from the non-profit organizations we support came to our headquarters at Old Parkland for a lovely reception and appreciation event. This is a yearly event which honors all of these selfless folks who devote their energies to doing good for our community – we really can’t do enough for them.

We also announced our underwriting of the FREE live simulcast of the Dallas Opera’s Barber of Seville which will take place on Friday, April 11 at the AT&T Stadium in Arlington. Doors open at 6 p.m. and the simulcast will begin at 7 p.m. The event and the parking is FREE. Entire families came out last year to watch opera on the huge screen while relaxing in comfort and enjoying hotdogs, nachos etc. and/or partaking of an alcoholic beverage (food and drink not free). Check it out www.dallasopera.org/simulcast.

The Dallas Foundation is the oldest community foundation in the state of Texas.  We help donors create charitable funds that reflect their interests. The Dallas Foundation was recently ranked No. 1 in donor satisfaction by The Center for Effective Philanthropy.  www.dallasfoundation.org
