CAD Drafter with Microstation *new grads welcome!

Imprimis has partnered with an established organization in the Ft. Worth area seeking quality candidates with Microstation experience for a long term contract  opportunity.  

TOP THREE REQUESTS:

1.    A good understanding and ability to work in Microstation CAD basic functions (including referencing, style controls, and etc). Advance function knowledge is a plus (Batch file processing, scripting).
2.    A strong ability to read, understand, and visualize from existing drawings and pictures and be able to communicate through drawings effectively.
3.    A strong ability to learn quickly and to adapt to the drafting requirements, and be meticulous in drawing preparation. 

WelcominNew Grads: Level of Education
• 2-year associate degree / 4-year college degree in technical communications, mechanical/civil engineering, or other related disciplines
• 2 or more courses in technical communications (drafting, technical writing, etc) a plus
• Prior training in automation of CAD work a plus (e.g. batch file generation, vba manipulation, etc)

Skill Requirements:
• Quick learner and ability to pick up new skills in a relatively short period of time
• Holds a BS or higher degree in Engineering Technology, Civil Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Rail Engineering, or other relevant disciplines
• Highly proficient in the creation and modification of drawings in Microstation
• Ability to convert AutoCAD files to Microstation files as needed
• Ability to follow instructions on drawing requests and changes directed by company
• Ability to communicate effectively
• Ability to follow current drafting practices per drafting guidelines for Standard Plans
• Strong and in depth understand of railroad track components
• Ability to work flexible hours dependent on current needs
• Able to meet with stakeholders as needed
• Prior experience in automation of drawing production a plus
• Prior experience with CAD management software a plus
• Prior experience with SharePoint sites a plus

Task Responsibilities
• Produce drawings as needed basis
• Be able to complete at least two drawing assignments per week
• All requests for new drawings or changes will be directed through the Manager Track Standards 

Location:
• Applicants will not need to travel for this position but should be able to meet at local offices periodically to discuss progress and to review work that was previously completed.
